Michael Wardian (USA) and Silvana Camelio (CHL) win the men's and women's titles, respectively, at the 2017 World Marathon Challenge.

Wardian set an astounding new world record for the fastest cumulative marathon time of 19:21:36 hrs (or average marathon time of 2:45:57 hrs) to complete 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days. Although she didn't have the fastest average marathon time for women, China's Guoping Xie won the final marathon in Sydney and set a new women's world record for fastest time frame (female) to complete 7 marathons on 7 continents - completing them all in 6 days 8 hours 30 minutes. Thirty-one of 33 competitors succeeded in completing the 2017 World Marathon Challenge within 168 hours, or 7 Days -one competitor missed the first marathon race in Antarctica and another had to wothdraw due to injury after running two marathons. The Challenge started in Antarctica at 20:41 Sydney Time on 23 January 2017 and the last competitor finished long before the 7 Day deadline of 20:41 Sydney Time on 30th January.
