Competitor bio:

Nontu uses running to combat children’s educational challenges, especially children from rural villages. She was born in the rural village of Mseleni, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa and is dedicating her World Marathon Challenge to raise funds for children that face conditions which are not conducive to learning and development. She believes that education creates unlimited opportunities and has decided to marry her two passions - Education and Running - to inspire change. She started a Programme called ‘Go Beyond for a Child’, which aims to give underprivileged children from rural areas a fair chance to succeed. Nontu was only able to attend University with the help of scholarships and she is on a mission to pay it forward by running long distance footraces to help children overcome barriers to education.
