Competitor bio:

Meriem discovered running two years ago when she moved to The Netherlands. She had practiced and competed in several sports since childhood, but with no previous endurance background she had to gradually build up her miles, competing in a few 5K, 10K, and half-marathons in the first year of training. A year ago she decided she wanted to share the incredible experience of the World Marathon Challenge with er husband Arno for their honeymoon! Since that time, and with his guidance, she worked towards her first marathon which took place in Rotterdam in April 2018. In October she completed a second marathon. Since then, Meriem has spent many hours running, learning to enjoy the surroundings, and adding kms to her legs while staying free of injuries. She says she has no big achievements in running, but is what her husband calls a "training champion." Meriem, who grew up in the Moroccan and Spanish cultures of her parents, is determined to complete this Challenge while enjoying the unique experience.
